The mission of Indochina Treasures is to offer good quality south Asian craft from Cambodia, Laos & Vietnam. Those products do respect the standards of fair or socially responsible trading.
The objectives of Indochina Treasures are:
- to import in Canada and to sell products coming from formal co-operative groups or abstract Community groupings;
- to encourage the setting-up of groupings of production and marketing;
- to privilege approaches which make it possible the groups of production to improve their products when considered to be necessary and wished by the groupings;
- to bring a support to the purchase of the inputs in order to allow the setting in production under the best conditions;
- to guarantee the purchase prices before the setting in production;
- to banish the child work not remunerated by height of the remuneration of the adults;
- to in general promote the schooling of the children and the girls in particular;
- to encourage the respect of the environment in the manufacture of the various products.
The targets of Indochina Treasures are:
- North-American public interested by the purchase of products of socially responsible or equitable quality;
- nongovernmental organizations (NGO) interested by the sale of quality handicrafts coming from the South-East Asia.
- Cong Ty (Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam) ; Involve and employs driving handicapped people;
- Hoa Sua Scheool (Hanoi, Vietnam). Involve and employs auditive handicapped people
